      Understanding LGBTQ+ Experiences of Family Violence

      CIAFV is excited to host Kristy Harcourt on January 29. Kristy Harcourt, MSW, is a social worker with a practice focus on LGBTQ community resilience, systems navigation and organizational change to better support LGBTQ people.  She also works as an instructor in Social Work and Gender Studies at MacEwan University. Her work includes:  LGBTQ perspectives on the experience of family violence and service delivery implications, fostering safety in workplace gender transitions, and how to attract, retain and support LGBTQ clients and colleagues promoting awareness and skills, and developing policies and practices related to gender diversity in organizations and the development of training curricula to foster the inclusion of sexual and gender diversity.  Kristy is finishing a Masters in Clinical Social Work from the University of Calgary focused on LGBTQ community resilience.
